Since Alliance CNC's establishment, we have specialized in grinding high performance tooling using state-of-the-art equipment and controls. In continuing with this precedence we have added a TTB - TGC 54N 6 axes 4 spindle micro tool grinding center, this is coupled with “Numroto 3-D” simulation software to allow virtual design and programming. Our four Walter CNC mini-power grinders and three Walter CNC power grinders are complemented by this addition.
MANUFACTURING SERVICES
Tool Design & Development:
Our team of skilled tool designers, with over 75 years of collective experience, can take your finished part print and design customer tooling to fit your specific machining application. Tool prints can be generated or modified using our in house CAD System and distributed via our high speed internet connection for final approval.
Cylindrical Preparation of Tool Blanks:
Tool blanks are cylindrically prepared on a variety of CNC O.D. grinding machines to assure that the highest quality finishes and tolerances are achieved. We use laser micrometers when gauging our O.D. dimensions. Upon completion of O.D. grinding, the blanks are returned to the Quality Department for inspection before proceeding to the next work station.
CNC Grinding of Tool:
Alliance CNC utilizes the most technologically advanced system for cutting tool production know as the Automated Tool Room or ATR. This system integrates the complete production process in multiple steps including Set-Up via tool simulation software and grinding via CNC Tool Grinders. The Automated Tool Room assures that you receive the same consistency tool after tool, from one production run to next.
Inspection:
The Quality Assurance Department within Alliance CNC is independent of the manufacturing department and as a result has no bias. Our heavy investment in both inspection machinery and Quality Assurance personnel guarantees a quality product. Tools are checked using our Euro-Tech PG-1000 pc based monocular microscope, one of our optical comparators or our Walter Heli-Check. Quality does not begin or end with the final tool. Every phase of tool production is monitored by our Quality Assurance department from the receipt of the raw material to the shipment of the finished product. Inspections are documented throughout the manufacturing process and retained by Job Number for future reference.
Edge Preparation and Tool Polishing:
We offer several options for edge preparation. Conicity edge prep, Walter Mini-Power Machine hone and hand honing. We also offer in-house Aero-lap (diamond media) tool surface preparation.
Coating:
If specified, the final manufacturing process is to apply the proper coating. Alliance CNC is proud to offer our own in house LARC-compact coating system services. This in house operation allows us to assure you that your tools have been coated with a quality coating that has above average adhesion characteristics due to intense cleaning and small load sizes.
Laser Etching:
Prior to final packaging and shipment, all manufactured tools are laser etched in house. Each individual tool is permanently marked with Part Number or Specification Number and our internal Job Number. Custom etching is available for a fee upon request.
Packaging & Labels:
All manufactured tools are packaged in tubes or placed in partitioned multi-pack containers. Oversize tools will be protected with a seal and peel coating to protect the finished product. Every package is individually labeled with the tool Part Number or Specification Number and our internal Job Number for your convenience.
RECONDITIONING SERVICES
Regrinding or recondition of your existing tools by Alliance CNC is a multi-step process designed to assure maximum performance and reliability.
Evaluation:
All tools are inspected upon receipt to determine condition, design and coating requirements. Tool geometry, tolerances, coating specifications and drawing availability are confirmed prior to work beginning.
Regrinding Process:
Tools are matched to the proper equipment assuring the highest quality result. Utilizing the correct machine or multiple machines in our diverse inventory.
Assurance:
The reconditioning process utilizes the identical inspection, edge preparation and coating as specified.
Packaging & Labels:
All reconditioned tools are then packaged prior to shipment. Tools may be protected with a seal and peel coating, packaged in tubes or placed in partitioned multi-packs to protect the finished product. Every package is individually labeled with the tool Part Number or Specification Number and our internal Job Number for your convenience.
