PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Since Alliance CNC's establishment, we have specialized in grinding high performance tooling using state-of-the-art equipment and controls.  Our six computer controlled Walter CNC grinders result in consistent exact results.  Coupled with our Walter "Cyber Grinding" simulation software we are able to design and virtually grind cutting tools that can be reviewed prior to production.

MANUFACTURING SERVICES

Tool Design & Development:

Our team of skilled tool designers, with over 40 years of collective experience, can take your finished part print and design customer tooling to fit your machining application.  Tool prints can be generated or modified using our in house CAD System and distributed via our high speed internet connection for final approval.  Computer generated three (3) dimensional images using our Walter Cyber Grinding software can also be reviewed.  This allows you, the customer, to review the tool before production thus elimination costly trial pieces.

Cylindrical Preparation of Tool Blanks:

Tool blanks are cylindrically prepared on several machines to assure that the highest quality finishes and tolerances are achieved.  We use laser micrometers when gauging our O.D. dimensions that are capable of  measuring to .00025 microns or .00001 inch.  Upon completion of O.D. grinding blanks are returned to the Quality Department for inspection before proceeding to the next work station.

CNC Grinding of Tool:

Alliance CNC has recently obtained the most technologically advanced system for cutting tool production know as the Automated Tool Room or ATR.  This system integrates the complete production process in three steps.  Set-Up via Cyber Grinding Software.  Grinding via Helitronic Power Tool Grinders.  Inspection via the Walter Heli-Check Tool Inspection System.  The Automated Tool Room assures that you receive the same consistency tool after tool, from one production run to next.

Inspection:

The Quality Control Department within Alliance CNC is independent of the manufacturing division and as a result has no bias.  Our heavy investment in both inspection machinery and Quality Assurance personnel assures quality.  Tools are checked using our Walter Heli-Check, Euro-Tech PG-1000 monocular microscope or one of our optical comparators.  Quality does not begin or end with the final tool.  Every phase of tool production is monitored by our Quality Assurance department from the receipt of the raw material to the shipment of the finished product.  Inspections are documented throughout the manufacturing process and  retained for future reference.

Coating:

If specified, the final manufacturing process is to apply the proper coating.  Alliance CNC, works closely with the area's top coating suppliers to assure you that the latest processes and techniques are being utilized to meet your tool life requirements.

Laser Etching:

Prior to final packaging and shipment, all manufactured tools are Laser Etched in house by our Laser Department.  Each individual tool is permanently marked with Part Number or Specification Number; and Date of Production.  Custom etching is available upon request.

Packaging & Labels:

All manufactured  tools are packaged in tubes or placed in partitioned multi-pack containers. Oversize tools will be protected with a seal and peel coating to protect the finished product.  Every package is individually labeled with the tool Part Number or Specification Number for your convenience.

RECONDITIONING SERVICES

Regrinding or recondition of your existing tool inventory by Alliance CNC is a multi-step process designed to assure maximum performance and reliability.  Qualified personnel are utilized in each phase of the operation resulting in a level of quality that challenges industry standards.

Evaluation:

All tools are inspected upon receipt to determine condition, design and coating requirements.   Tool geometry, tolerances, coating specifications and drawing availability are confirmed prior to work beginning.  The customer is notified, if any tools are unsuitable for reconditioning.

 Regrinding Process:

Tools are matched to the proper equipment assuring the highest quality result.  Utilizing the correct machine or multiple machines in our diverse inventory, Alliance CNC technicians grind your tools with CBN or diamond wheels and sufficient coolant so as to minimize heat and the inherent damage that could otherwise result. Inspection equipment on the production floor, allows spot checking and confirmation of the proper geometry.

Inspection:

Reconditioned tools are then sent to inspection. Inspection documentation is recorded for future use.

Edge Preparation:

When applicable, the tool is moved to the final edge finishing area.  Here microscopic adjustments are made to the edge via a hone, soft wheel or diamond lapping.

Coating:

If the reconditioned tool is coated, the final manufacturing process is to apply the proper coating.  Alliance CNC, works closely with the area's top coating suppliers to assure you that the latest processes and techniques are being utilized to meet your tool life requirements.

Packaging & Labels:

All reconditioned tools are then packaged prior to shipment.  Tools may be protected with a seal and peel coating, packaged in tubes or placed in partitioned multi-packs to protect the finished product.  Every tool or tool package is individually labeled with a date of rework for your convenience.
